Closeouts are a regular by-product of today's highly competitive, SKU proliferated, ever-changing market place. However, they are a logistical nightmare that are very difficult, if not impossible, to run through the distribution systems of today's retailers.

We have 10 buyers and associates that scour the world daily looking for opportunity buys on branded goods. Upon passing our buying committee's product and market analysis, each brand we purchase follows the same flow through our various departments:
- Quality Control
Before goods can be remarketed, each deal undergoes a rigorous inspection process to:
- sort unmanageable inventory (e.g. tattered packaging, short dated)
- identify labeling problems (e.g. outdated promotional packaging, legal labeling compliance)
- segregate merchandising compliance issues ( e.g. case pack variances)
- Marketing Specialists
Goods are then channeled through the CLT Marketing Department to assess and design the label, packaging and merchandising vehicles integral to both the preservation of a brand's integrity and the ability of retailers to realize full value for each brand.
CLT has fully integrated packaging capabilities that bring to life whatever the marketing plan requires, from re-boxing to clamshell packs to PDQ displays.
- Production Division
Executing each marketing and packaging program is CLT's Production Division, a large crew of handlers specializing in all manner of product "restoration", ranging from basic re-labeling to complex 'pick 'n pack' pallet loaders.

Case Study
CLT International purchased a large closeout from a major manufacturer. The product happened to be store returns accumulated over a few years. There were almost 100 SKU's mixed together in various size boxes. The SKU mix was unknown, many products had retail price stickers and multiple brands were represented. A national grocer was interested in the brands at our price but was unwilling to list the broad assortment of SKU's and needed a merchandising execution that would fit their store policies. |
